Practice driving or parking your virtual truck

American Truck Simulator is a free game that lets you drive or park a truck. The vehicles only come in three colors, which is a disappointment. The screen is cluttered with various control icons, such as the clutch, headlights, and many more. Unfortunately, you can’t change the layout or adjust the icons’ transparency.

The graphics of this driving simulator title are mediocre by today’s standards. Not to mention that it doesn’t have enough content to keep players engaged. Nevertheless — if you’re looking for a short, non-graphics intensive game — then go ahead and download American Truck Simulator.

Complete the levels

American Truck Simulator features trucks in three colorways: red, black, and brown. The red truck is available for free by default, whereas the other two can only be purchased using gold coins. This driving simulator only includes two game modes, namely “Mission” and “Parking” — which only have 10 levels. The former lets you drive a truck on the streets, while the latter tests your parking skills.

In “Parking,” you have to park your truck at a certain area without bumping the cones, islands, and other obstacles too many times—lest you want to repeat the level. As for the controls, touch the “Start” button to start your truck’s engine and press and hold the accelerator to move forward. Then, tap the brake pedal to halt your truck. The steering controls can be switched according to your preferences, too.

The clutch adds realism to the game, with the letters “D,” “P,” “R” standing for drive, park, and reverse, respectively. You can also turn on your vehicle’s headlights and toggle between third-person and first-person driving modes. Sadly, the visuals look dated and unappealing. It doesn’t have additional game modes or levels to keep you entertained either. Hence, this one is not for you if you want a longer game.

Not too many levels

American Truck Simulator is quite short, featuring only a total of 20 levels for both “Mission” and “Parking.” The ability to switch between driving modes and steering controls is a major plus, and the clutch icon adds a touch of realism to the game. Although the visuals are not that great, this title is perfect for anyone looking for a short driving simulator game.
